||Topaz is the state gem of Texas, is found within the borders of the state only in Mason County. For this reason we proudly call our Topaz, Mason County Topaz. It is mostly found in ravines and river/creek beds.
There are only 3 Mason County ranches that offer the public topaz hunting. They charge by the day and you keep what
you find. Some very nice stones have been found in this way. In fact,
since there is no commercial mining of Mason County topaz, hunting it
yourself is one of the main ways of finding it and many people come here every year for the express purpose of finding a gem.
This is the 'Grand Azure'. Weighing in at a whooping 587 carats it is the largest Mason County Faceted Topaz known to exist. Displayed at Mason Country Collectibles all year round.
